Stacey Griffith, son of Robert and Ruby Griffith was born in 1953 in the city of Detroit Michigan. Upon graduating from Munford High School, Stacey began his working career as a salesman at Ted Vassar’s Men's Shop. It was in 1973 that Stacy made his Home in Windsor Ontario while continuing to work in Detroit. He began to work for American Mop Rental, where he became the company's first black industrial driver. After a serious injury which ended his driving career, he began to feel the desire to answer to the art of cooking. A year later an opportunity came his way, and he answered his passion to cook. Stacey was offered an opportunity of leasing the kitchen at BC’s Border Bar. His wings and BBQ soon became well-known throughout Windsor. After several years of leasing BC’s Kitchen, Stacey felt it was time to step out and answer his desire to own his own restaurant. In 2003, he opened his own restaurant called “Stacy’s King of Wings”. It was in 2014 that Stacey was officially asked to become a committee member of the group. Today Stacey’s voice is heard in several Artists of Colour recordings and is called upon to perform as different Black Historical figures in special event performances and Art Exhibitions. contact: [email protected] - 313-244-9635
